Former labour minister Kishan Shrestha has broken the election code of conduct by attempting to influence voters in his constituency of Bara.
The move contrasts the former minister Shrestha’s election campaign promise as he has been pressing that he will create more jobs in his own constituency and the country.
Shrestha, the common candidate from the ruling coalition for Bara Constituency-4 member of the House of Representatives, is at the center of the controversy after he conducted a pre-interview for a foreign company saying that he would send youths of Parwanipur, Bara abroad for free.
The interview was held in BS Party Palace at former minister Shrestha’s initiative; however, it was cut short after furious opposition parties staged protests against it.
Many youths are snatched from their opportunities to work abroad as they are declined for the interview process by the manpower company saying the vacancy was just for the youth of Shrestha’s constituency.
International Manpower Recruitment Company, Lalitpur organized the event as per the request of Shrestha’s personal secretary Jagat Shrestha on Saturday.
The manpower company had published an advertisement for 750 employees to work in a plastic company in Malaysia.
A similar interview was also been held in Shrestha’s home district Tanahun earlier.
