Foundation Stone Laid For Mayurdhap Industrial Estate


Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supply, Lekharaj Bhatta, laid a foundation stone for the Mayurdhap industrial estate at Hetauda Sub-Metropolis Ward No 14 on Friday. The federal government had announced the plan to construct the industrial estate in five years back.

A total of 199 bighas and 17 katthas of land was acquired by the federal government for the construction of the industrial site. Even the land ownership certificate has been acquired for the estate. The office for the project was set up two years back.

On the occasion, Minister Bhatta said the federal government was bringing reform in the existing laws to establish industries for making national economy self-reliant. Every province will have new industrial estate so that national economy will be dynamic, he said, adding that security would be provided to the industrialists of multinational companies along with adequate physical facilities.

At the same programme, Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Dormani Poudel, said Hetauda would now be declared an industrial district where multinational companies and industrialists would be invited for investments.
Vice-Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Dr Pushpa Raj Kandel, suggested the federal government to ensure every physical facility required by small, average and large industrialists and even tax discount for some time so that they could thrive well and contribute to strengthen national economy.

Similarly, Chairperson of Nepal Industrial Management Ltd, Nanda Kishor Basnet, shared the information that all sort of physical infrastructures would be constructed for the Mayurdhap industrial estate within two years. The industrialists and entrepreneurs would be provided lands free of cost for five years in the industrial estate. There are 62 plots of land. Necessary infrastructures including building, electricity, and drinking water would be provided gradually, he added.

Then lawmaker Ananta Prasad Poudel was honoured by offering shawl for his contribution to establish the industrial estate.

Government has invested Rs 7.2 billion to build infrastructures for the industrial estate.
