The government of Nepal has begun distribution of electronic vaccination certificates with QR Codes from today – specifically designed for those travelling abroad. One may visit the National Ayurveda Research and Training Center (NARTC), Kirtipur between 10 am to 4 pm to obtain the vaccine certificate.
Documents such as the original vaccination card, passport, one passport size photo and one copy of the vaccination card need to be submitted to attain the service. Those travelling abroad within three days must submit photocopies of tickets and visas as well.
Provision for digital registration has also been made available. One will have to fill the form online by visiting https://vaccine.mohp.gov.np/public-request-form.
The QR Code vaccination certificate comes as a relief to several stranded migrant workers. Several countries such as Kuwait has made it mandatory for arriving passengers to upload their QR code vaccination certificates – a provision which was unavailable for Nepalis earlier.
