The government has declared martyr Bir Bhakti Thapa as national hero.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on June 28 decided to declare Thapa as national hero.
Speaking at a press conference, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Basanta Nembang made the decisions public on Wednesday.
As per the decisions, the government appointed Mahendra Bahadur Gurung of Okhaldhunga as member of Public Procurement Review Committee.
Raj Bahadur Giri, a permanent resident of Bajura district, has been appointed as a member of the National Planning Commission.
The government has also endorsed the proposal to issue a directive regarding the design and management of government websites. Proposal regarding this had been tabled by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.
The Cabinet meeting held on June 24 also decided to nominate a seven-member team led by Vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission Prof. Dr. Pushpa Raj
Kandel to participate in a virtual meeting of the United Nations High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF)-2021.
According to Minister Nembang, the government has decided to create one extra vacancy of the Additional Inspector General (AIG) as tabled by the Ministry of Home Affairs and divide Operation and Crime Investigation Department into two sections to adjust the added vacancy. With the decision,
now the total number of AIGs in Nepal Police reached five.
The Cabinet meeting held on June 24 also decided to appoint Minister Nembang as the government spokesperson.
Similarly, the Cabinet meeting held on June 21 decided to appoint Jiba Narayan Kafle of Waling Municipality in Syangja district as member secretary for the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT).
The government reappointed Kabiraj Pathak of Jhapa as administrator of Rastriya Beema Sansthan.
The Cabinet meeting has also given approval to begin the clinical trial of COVID-19 vaccines to Ministry of Health and Population.
The government has also endorsed Nagarik App Directive-2021.
Likewise, the government has decided to recommend President Bidya Devi Bhandari for summoning the session of the National Assembly on July 1 (Thursday) at 4:00 pm at International Convention Centre, Baneshwor.
The government has also appointed Bhim Kumar Ojha of Panchthar as chairman of Public Procurement Review Committee. Also, the government decided to accept grant assistance of Japanese Yen worth 356 million for Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship 2021.
