The government has decided to launch rescue efforts to immediately evacuate Nepalis living in Afghanistan.
Considering the recent developments on Taliban revolt in Afganistan, the meeting of the council of ministers held today took the decision to this effect.
Spokesperson of the government Gyanendra Bahadur Karki informed that the meeting had also directed the authorities formed for evacuation of Nepalis to work in coordination with each other.
“Similarly, the government’s attention has been drawn towards the hunger strike staged by Nepalis in London demanding pension parity of former British Gurkha soldiers,” said Karki, adding that the government was committed to resolving the issue via diplomatic channels.
