The Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday said that it has been actively engaged in market intervention to prevent oxygen cylinder shortage and make its supply system reliable.
“Oxygen cylinders are being accumulated in special police operations and surveillance and in the spontaneous efforts of some industries themselves,” Joint Secretary Janak Raj Dahal said in a press note issued this evening.
According to the information received from different districts, the Ministry collected 1,816 units of oxygen cylinders on Friday alone.
Further, the Ministry has appealed to all individuals and officials to actively participate in the government’s campaign to make the second wave of COVID-19 infection prevention, control and treatment effective by contributing to the humanitarian work.
The Ministry also said that the management of the second wave of COVID-19 was becoming increasingly challenging and its management was also going further challenging.
The Home Ministry has also extended special thanks to all the industries, businesses and individuals who have provided the much needed oxygen to the patients suffering from COVID-19.
The collected oxygen cylinders have been distributed under the direct involvement and coordination of the Ministry of Health and Population and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies.
