Helicopter service starts for domestic tourists in Raling

A local helicopter service has been started in Raling for the religious fair there.

The service offers a convenient way for domestic tourists to travel to the main monastery here and attend the grand fair, said Sushila Bham Rokaya, vice chairman of Simkot Rural Municipality.

Rokaya herself travelled to the fair this year on the helicopter and informed that the price for a one-way ticket was Rs. 5,500 and for a two-way ticket was Rs. 11,000.

According to Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal’s (CAAN) Simkot office, 30 flights had taken place till 4 pm Tuesday with each flight carrying five people. Helicopters fly everyday till 7 pm if the weather permits.

The helicopter service will continue even after the fair to transport tourists to the monastery.
