India has rescued a Nepali student, Shevika Dhakal of Ratnanagar-9 in Chitwan who was studying in Indonesia, while rescuing its own citizens from Indonesia.
The Embassy of India in Indonesia posted a tweet saying, “Shevika Dakal, a Nepali student of BBA, in Maharishi Markandey Uni, was in Indonesia as part of an exchange program with Airlangga Uni. She left for India by AI 1039. She is thankful to the GOI for the #VandeBharatMission”.
In a video posted on Twitter, Dhakal said that she was a BBA student at Maharishi Markandey University, Haryana and had come to Indonesia as part of a student exchange program with the university.
She said that she had requested the Government of Nepal to rescue her and that she had been able to return from Indonesia after the Government of Nepal requested the same to the Government of India.
She thanked both the governments for rescuing her.
Meanwhile, India has also brought three Nepalis to New Delhi in the process of rescuing its citizens stranded in Australia.
Arjun Prasad Timilsina, Bishwa Timilsina and Mukti Prasad Timilsina of Kaski, Nepal have been brought to New Delhi along with Indian nationals.
The trio are father and sons – one son is in need of bone marrow transplant, the other son will donate the bone marrow, while the father will be taking care of them.
The Nepali Embassy in Australia had requested the Indian Embassy to provide them with transportation to New Delhi for the bone marrow surgery.
