The ruling coalition has instructed those who have rebelled against the official candidates of the parties to withdraw their candidacy within the specified time period.
The directive comes in response to many leaders filing nominations against the official candidate representing the ruling coalition for the November 20 House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections.
The meeting today of the top leaders of the coalition has decided that the party concerned will expel the rebel candidates if they do not withdraw their candidature by 1:00 p.m. on October 12.
It is stated in a statement issued following the meeting and signed by Prime Minister and President of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairperson of CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Chair of CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal and Chair of Rashtriya Janamorcha Party Chitra Bahadur KC.
