Investment Summit To Be Held In Butwal


Provincial Government of Lumbini is all set to host the investment summit on May 21 and 22 in Rupandehi.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning, Lumbini has informed that preparation for investment is underway.

Secretary of the Ministry Baburam Adhikari said that there are ample opportunities to invest in this province. The main purpose of the summit is to have a good rate return and create employment.

He added that the summit will present the opportunities available in the province to foreign and domestic investors and will encourage them to invest.

The summit was supposed to be held last year in April but was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, it was decided to be hosted in Rupandehi by the meeting held last month.

The secretary stated that, during the summit, the domestic investor will be requested to invest in the productive sector of the Terai region and foreign investor will be encouraged to invest in the hilly region.

Ministry is planning to identify area suitable for investment and will be motivated as there is ample area for opportunities.

The secretary informed that the private sector can select the possible sector and submit a proposal and foreign investors will be assisted in identity prospective areas for investment. He further added that the provincial government has a large number of project bank so the summit will work as a bridge to present those project before investors.

Adhikari added that domestic investors have sufficient capital so they will be motivated to invest. He vowed that facilities will be provided to foreign investors just like domestic investors. It will inspire foreign investors along with domestic investors.
