Kailali ward chairman vandalizes government residence of Administrative Officer after getting drunk


A ward chairman has vandalized the governmental residence of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) in Ghodaghodi municipality, Kailali.

On Saturday night, Kailali Mayor Khadak Bahadur Rawat, some ward chairs and Kailali CAO Deepak Kumar Acharya were drinking alcohol at the official residence of CAO Acharya. While drinking, a dispute broke out between them.

During the dispute, Kailali Ward-1 Chairman Ghanshyam Ojha kicked the tables and broke them. The broken tables were government properties.

DSP Laxman Shahi, Area Police Office Incharge, said that they haven’t received any official complaint about the incident. However, they have received information that the argument took place after getting intoxicated due to drinking alcohol.

According to the police, the group consumed alcohol at a restaurant till late night and continued drinking at the governmental residence of CAO Acharya after the restaurant closed.

Following the incident, the Nepal Communist Party led by Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav) locked the Ghodaghodi municipal office.

They have also alleged political corruption and vandalization of not just tables but also of computers that were in the official residence of CAO Acharya.
