Kathmandu stood ninth among the World’s most polluted cities as per the IQAir index, a European body that measures the air quality across the globe on Saturday.
IQAir, which provides real-time air quality information, measured Pakistan’s Lahore as the most polluted city in the world followed by Incheon city of South Korea.
Meanwhile, the Indian capital New Delhi was rated third.
IQAir is a Swiss air quality technology company that specialises in protection against airborne pollutants runs air quality monitoring and develops air cleaning products.
The PM-2.5 level in Kathmandu reached 176 per hour, according to IQAir, which is higher than the healthy standard of 151.
