Kathmandu Valley continues ‘record breaking’ streak with 415 new cases


On 25th August, 2020, Kathmandu Valley recorded 232 new cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours – its highest single day numbers since the onset of Covid-19 pandemic.

On 26th August, 2020, the valley recorded another 301 new cases in 24 hours. Posting 300 plus cases for the first time, it broke its own record of Tuesday, (25th August, 2020).

On 27th August, 2020, according to the Ministry of Health and Population, Kathmandu Valley recorded another 377 new cases of Covid-19 overnight – breaking its own record again.

On 28th August, The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) confirmed 415 new cases of COVID-19 in Kathmandu Valley – continuing its record breaking streak for the fourth consecutive day.

Of the 415 new cases, 350 were detected in Kathmandu, 54 were detected in Bhaktapur and 11 were detected in Lalitpur, said Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the ministry in the daily press briefing today.

Moreover, some 927 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed across the nation on Friday, taking the national tally to 36,456 including 20,242 cases of recovery and 12 death cases.
