The government has imposed week-long prohibitory orders in the Kathmandu Valley effective from early morning Thursday.
A meeting between the district administration officers of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur today made the decision to this effect.
All services except essential ones will be shut down in the Kathmandu Valley.
Both private and public transport will be halted for the time being.
Similarly, the operation of educational institutions, private offices, hotels, restaurants and party palaces will also be halted.
Employees of essential sectors will be allowed to move around in possession of travel passes and identity cards of their concerned offices.
With the alarming rise in coronavirus infection, the District Administration Offices of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur districts have issued similar one-week injunction in the Kathmandu Valley from Thursday onwards.
As per the orders issued by the District Administration Offices, all non-essential services will be closed from 6:00 am onwards until May 5 midnight.
RESTRICTIONS
# All kinds of meetings, conferences, symposia, gatherings are prohibited. According to the order, the operation of shopping malls, cinema halls, salons, etc. have been banned.
# Abroad travelers, in possession of visa, air ticket, and passports, are allowed to hail taxies to travel to the airport
# In case of marriage/fasting ceremonies, up to 15 people will be allowed to participate in compliance of the health safety protocols and after securing permission from the respective District Administration Offices.
# During this period, local public and private vehicles will halt services, while vehicles carrying essential goods, ambulances, vehicles used by health workers and security forces will not be barred from entering or operating in the Kathmandu Valley.
# Essential services such as ambulances, drinking water vehicles, vegetable shops, fruits shops, milk trucks/shops, and garbage collection trucks will be allowed to operate until 10:00 am and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
# Department stores and marts will be allowed to operate between 5:00 am to 10:00 pm.
