The government has decided to extend the earlier announced one week long prohibitory orders within Kathmandu Valley to 15 days. Prohibitory orders will now begin as scheduled from Thursday, 29th April, 06:00 am onward to midnight, 14th May, 2021.

The decision has come in effect after review of the District Administration Office’s decision by the Council of Ministers. As per the Council of Ministers, the rate of spread of Covid-19 within Kathmandu Valley is extremely high, and 15 days minimum is recommended as that is the recommended time for isolation.

Nepal recorded 3442 new cases of Covid-19 across the country within the past 24 hours on Monday. Of the 3442, 1912 cases were from Kathmandu Valley alone.

Restrictions and provisions will remain the same as announced yesterday by the DAOs.
