Kathmandu Valley’s prohibitory orders extended until 27th May

The District Administration Offices of Kathmandu Valley have decided to extend the ongoing prohibitory orders within the valley by 15 days – until midnight 27th May. Initially announced for a week from 29th April to 5th May, the prohibitory orders were extended for a week until 12th May midnight.

Prohibitory orders in the valley were imposed keeping in mind the growing rate of Covid-19 infections – on Monday, 10th May, Nepal posted a record breaking 9,127 cases of Covid-19, of which 3,607 cases were from the valley.

The DAOs have also decided to halt construction work unless projects are of national importance. Weddings/Bratabandha ceremonies may be organized at home with a maximum attendance of ten people.  

Other restrictions will remain the same. Shops however, will be allowed to open until 10 a.m.
