KOICA Supports Methinkot Hospital


The medical equipments provided by a Korean organisation have been handed over to the Methinkot provincial hospital based at Bhakundebesi, Namobuddha municipality-4.

Twenty-nine units medical equipment provided by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and KOICA Alumni Association, were handed over to the hospital on Thursday.

KOICA country director Sung Hun-ko and KOICA Alumni president Binod Bidari jointly handed the assistance to Uddhav Prasad Kafle, Chair of Namobuddha municipality-4 and the Chair of Methinkot hospital.

The equipments include two patient monitors, two oxygen concentrators, one cardiography CTG machine, one BIP-AP machine, five pulse oxymetres, six digital BP machines, three emergency beds, five oxygen regulators, one emergency medical cart and three emergency bed mattresses, among others.

At the programme, mayor of Namobuddha Municipality, TP Sharma Timilsina thanked KOICA and KOICA Alumni Association for providing the support. He said the hospital, although a provincial hospital, was facing shortage of the required infrastructure, human resources and medical equipment.

Ambassador of South Korea for Nepal, Park Chong-suk lauded the hospital for providing effective services in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic and expressed commitment for further support to the hospital.
