Locals Delight After Seeing Bus In Their Village

Locals of Barekot Rural Municipality in Jajarkot district became extremely happy on Friday after a passenger bus reached their village for the first time.

The people were gathered at Karkijiula, an area in Ward 6 of Barekot, with colours and ceremonial scarf awaiting the bus which was coming from district headquarters Khalanga via Rimna and Kalimati.

When the bus (State 5-005-10-3001) reached Karkijiula, the locals celebrated the moment with joy. They welcomed the bus, its driver and co-driver with great honour in the village.

“The crowd at the village to see the bus was like the mass that used to gather to see a helicopter,” said Kamal Deep Karki, a local.
The villagers have been travelling by jeep, and only on Friday, the bus had ever reached the place.

According to the transport committee, the bus was brought there to check the condition of the road. The inspection went perfect as the bus reached there easily because of the good condition of the road, informed the committee.

The transport committee plans to introduce a regular bus service from the upcoming Nepali New Year. The locals are now happy that they could travel at a cheaper price by bus as travelling by jeep has been highly expensive.
