Supporters of agitating Dr Govinda KC have restricted the movement of government vehicles in Dadeldhura today, stating that the government has turned a deaf ear to Dr KC’s demands.

Medical activist Dr KC has been staging fast-unto-death in Dadeldhura of Doti demanding reforms in the medical education sector for the past seven days. This is his 17th hunger strike. Local businesspersons are also pulling their shutters from 1:30 to 2:30 pm today in solidarity with Dr KC. Private vehicles, however, have not been stopped.

Dr KC has been moved to Dadeldhura Hospital on Friday owing to his frail health. Doctors attending him have said that he is suffering from high blood pressure and an increased heart rate. Medical professionals at Dadeldhura Hospital have said his checkup is not possible at the hospital and hence they are preparing to send him to another health facility.
