Lumbini Province Tourism Development Council has started the identification and promotion of tourism destinations in all 12 districts of the province.
In the first phase, the council has conducted an on-site study on the matter of getting information about the current condition of historical tourist sites in the province, coordinating with the local levels for the protection and promotion of the sites.
Ramu Joshi, executive director of the council, said that information was collected form the site study of Gumli, Argakhanchi and Palpa. He added that the council will conduct a onsite study of other tourism destinations of the province and coordinate with local levels for the preservation of the sites.
Many tourism sites were at a poor state due to lack of conservation, he said.
The team had visited three-faced swing bridge, bizarre cave of Gulmi, Narpani, Supa Deurali, Khachikot of Arghakhachi, historical waterfall of Palpa and other places.
