Three mayors of Lalitpur district, including Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City Chiribabu Maharjan, Godawari Municipality’s Mayor Gajendra Maharjan and Mahalaxmi Municipality’s Mayor Rameshwar Shrestha have tested positive for COVID-19 .
This the second time that Mayor Rameshwor has tested COVID-19 positive. Before this, had been infected during the early days of the lockdown in April, but later tested negative for the virus. At present, Rameshwor has been receiving treatment at KIST Hospital for the last 11 days.
Meanwhile, Lalitpur Mayor Chiribabu is said have high fever, neck pain and severe headache. He is in home isolation. He tested positive on Friday.
Similarly, Godawari Mayor Gajendra also tested positive for the virus the second time. He is suffering from high fever and body ache, and is isolating at home since Monday.
Lalitpur district has recorded a total of 1,996 COVID-19 cases so far.
