Update: One dead, twelve injured
One passenger has died due to the accident. A rescue operation is ongoing – the rain is making it difficult. Police have rescued 12 passengers and are being sent to local hospitals.
A micro bus coming from Mugling direction and a mini bus coming from Malekhu side have met with an accident at Dhading district on Prithvi Highway – the micro plunged into Trishuli River. Reports from the accident site have suggested the Micro bus fell into the river while swerving the car after the accident.
Police and locals are assisting in a rescue program – the number of passengers in the micro and the casualty numbers are unknown.
The accident occurred around 7:45 a.m. The road conditions were slippery at the time of the accident. Police are facilitating movement at the site – however, it is advised to check traffic conditions before heading on Prithvi Highway.
