The normal date for monsoon withdrawal from Nepal is October 2, but the monsoon is expected to continue for a few more days, according to meteorologists. Ganga Nagarkoti, a meteorologist at the Meteorological Forecasting Division, said no specific pattern had been noticed for immediate withdrawal of the monsoon.
Currently, Nepal is affected by the low pressure area developed in and around Bihar, India, she said.
“The weather will remain general to partially cloudy till Tuesday in Karnali and Sudurpaschim and a few places in other provinces,” she said. Local phenomena and impact of India’s low pressure are attributed to the current rainfall with thunder showers, she said.
Meteorologist Raju Pradhananga said that post-monsoon phenomena will start after the monsoon formally recedes and winter will start shortly after that.
