Myagdi Floods: 2 missing, 48 families displaced

Two school girls are reportedly missing after a a swollen Koth Khola passed through a village in Myagdi District. The flood has also displaced 48 families.
Prabina Pariyar (10) and Anuskha Pariyar (6) of Beni Municipality- 2 have been identified and confirmed missing, said spokesperson of Myagdi District Police Office, Dhurba Prasad Sharma.
A team of police has been deployed to search for the missing girls. The river altered its course to enter the village around 11:15 p.m. last night. The river had swollen owing to continuous rainfall.
Nine families are said to have saved their lives by fleeing at night as the river inundated the village.
Around 48 families have been displaced due to the flood: however relocated to safer places, said Sharma.
According to him, police had showed up at the site of the scene and conducted search and rescue operation shortly after the river entered the village.
District Administration Office, District Police and Red Cross are at the site managing temporary shelters for the victims, informed Sharma.
