Nepal – Myanmar sign MoU on tourism and culture, President Bhandari to head to Japan on the 20th

Nepal and Myanmar have signed two MoUs on cooperation of tourism and culture in Myanmanr. President Bhandari is on a 5 day state visit in Myanmar upon the friendly invitation of the President of Myanmar U Win Myint.

The signing ceremony took place at the Presidential House in Nay Pyi Taw, the capital of Myanmar after holding a bilateral talk between two nations in the presence of President Bidya Devi Bhandari and State Counsellor of Myanmar Aung San Suu Kyi.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali and Union Minister for International Cooperation of Myanmar, Kyaw Tin, signed and exchanged the two MoUs after the bilateral talks held at the Presidential House in Nay Pyi Taw, the capital of Myanmar.

President Bhandari, who was earlier honored with a Guard of Honor, exchanged presents with state counselor Suu Kyi. President Bhandari is scheduled to stay in Myanmar till October 20.

She will then pay an official visit to Japan to attend the Ceremony of the Enthronement of His Majesty Naruhito, the Emperor of Japan, to be held on 22 October 2019.

During the visit, the Rt. Hon. President will hold meetings with the President of India H. E. Shri Ram Nath Kovind and the Prime Minister of Japan H. E. Mr. Shinzo Abe. She is due to return Kathmandu on 23rd October.

Her entourage will include Hon. Mr. Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’, Minister for Home Affairs, and other high ranking officials of the Office of the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
