NA Officials Deployed For Management Of Oxygen In Rupandehi


The District Administration Office of Rupandehi has decided to deploy Nepali Army officials for proper management of oxygen cylinders in the district.

A meeting between the district administration officials, oxygen industrialists, and other stakeholders at Bhairahawa on Friday decided to seek the assistance of the Nepali Army (NA) on the matter.

Chaired by the Chief District Officer (CDO) Asman Tamang, the meeting decided to request the Nepali Army Garud Batallion in Ramnagar.“From Saturday, NA officers will be deployed in oxygen factories and plants.

They will ensure easy availability and proper management of oxygen cylinders and its refilling,” said Tamang.

Alongside the assistance from NA, the district administration informed that they were also exploring other ways to expand the production of oxygen and make it easily available for the public.In Rupandehi, Shankar Oxygen Gas Pvt. Ltd., Chhipagadh; Lumbini Oxygen Gas Industries, Padsari; and Lumbini Oxygen Gas Pvt. Ltd., Tilottama have been producing oxygen.

UML Dang chapter to provide 25 oxygen cylinders daily

Meanwhile, our correspondent in Dang reports: At a time when hospitals of the district are facing an acute shortage of medical oxygen and coronavirus patients are gasping for breath, the Dang chapter of ruling CPN-UML has assured to provide 25 oxygen cylinders daily.

Amidst the rising COVID-19 crisis, the UML chapter has initiated a campaign to collect at least 25 oxygen cylinders to cope with the shortage of life-saving gas.

District Secretary of UML, Manohar Budathoki said their efforts are meant to avert the potential crisis of oxygen when the entire district is grappling with the soaring cases of coronavirus infection. “We want no patient to die in lack of the gas.”

“In the first phase, we have been providing 25 gas cylinders to the district hospital. We will increase the number in the coming days,” he added.

For the last three days, the district chapter has been providing 25 oxygen cylinders to the district hospital, he added. Budathoki also urged everyone to support the campaign.

The party chapter has been providing oxygen with the help of the Sonapur Cement Industry, he said, adding that Hem Raj Banjade, former president of Dang District Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has provided vehicles for the transportation of oxygen cylinders.

“Accepting our request, Sonapur Cement Industry has been providing 25 cylinders of oxygen daily. We have also requested the provincial government to make arrangements for the life-saving gas” said Budathoki.
