Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has made its Nepalgunj to Simkot flights regular again.
According to Yam Raj Singh, NAC’s station in-charge in Nepalgunj, the flight had become irregular over the past few months due to technical problems in the airline’s plane. However, the problem has now been fixed and the Corporation has resumed its scheduled flights.
“We have resumed regular flights since Sunday,” Singh informed, adding, “We have gone back to making three Nepalgunj-Simkot flights a week on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.”
Up until this week, NAC used to operate only two weekly flights and those too, were not scheduled, which had been causing great difficulty to passengers travelling in the Banke-Humla route.
The Corporation has fixed the one-way fare for the flight at Rs. 9,170. As informed by the airlines, the number of passengers coming from the mountainous Humla to the Terai is higher than those flying from Terai to the mountains. In addition to NAC, several private carriers also fly the route.
