NC should consider electoral alliance: Leader Koirala

Nepali Congress (NC)’s central member Dr Shekhar Koirala asserted that NC should forge an electoral alliance in the upcoming provincial and federal elections in a way that would minimise damages to the party itself.

At a press conference organised by the Nepal Press Union at Chitwan today, leader Koirala said that discussions were underway in the party regarding electoral alliance in the upcoming elections.

On a different note, Koirala clarified that NC was not a part of any group and it should adhere to the party rules, regulations and statutes. He expressed his intent that the party president would take forward the party bringing onboard one and all within the party.

He clarified that he was against factional politics and articulated his intent that the party should run abiding by laws.

He refuted the rumours that he was seeking power-sharing during a discussion with like-minded friends.

He also viewed that NC should not imbibe communist tendencies, and called for further strengthening the party by refuting the negating things on the part of the incumbent NC-led government and the party president. (RSS)
