Nepal-India friendly bus service resumes after two years


The Nepal-India friendly bus service has resumed after a two-years long pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bheri Transport Pvt Ltd, situated in Nepalgunj, has been operating the Nepal-India passenger-friendly transport service from Nepalgunj to Indian capital Delhi, Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow, Dehradun and Haridwar.

According to Rajendra Giri, chairman of Bheri Transport Pvt Ltd, the friendly bus service between Nepal and India has been re-opened as of November 1, with clearance for cross-border vehicular operations following the lowered risk of coronavirus.

The bus companies had suffered a significant financial loss as a result of the cancellation of services. Passengers from Nepal can now travel to and from Indian destinations such as Delhi, Dehradun, and Haridwar with ease thanks to the return of bus service.

The bus from Nepalgunj to Delhi departs at 5:00 pm, whereas, Nepalgunj-bound bus from Delhi leaves at 5:00 pm. The buses for Deharadun and Haridwar leave at 8.00 pm from Nepalgunj, Giri informed.

Daily COVID-19 cases has dropped in both the countries with India recording 12,935 new cases on October 31 while Nepal recording 518 new COVID-19 infection.
