Nepal lose 0-1 to Kuwait

The national football team lost to Kuwait by 0-1 in the FIFA World Cup 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 Qualifiers match held today at Chaglimithang Stadium in Bhutan.

Bader Al-Mutawa scored the first and only goal for Kuwait in the 28th minute.

Nepal played without four players—forward Bimal Gharti Magar, midfielders Anjan Bista and Santosh Tamang, and defender Dinesh Rajbanshi—as they were ousted from the team for visiting night clubs on the eve of their departure to Bhutan.

The Changlimithag Stadium in Thimpu served Nepal as the home venue. ANFA found for a neutral venue in Bhutan after the AFC refused to approve the under-construction Dasharath Stadium for the Asian Qualifiers ties for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023.
