The Nepal Telecommunications (NTC) has expanded its high-speed fiber to the home (FTTH) internet service in Doti district.
The service was initiated in the district for the first time. With the new service coming into effect, the number of internet users has also increased, shared the Nepal Telecom Dipayal Rajpur.So far total 432 users including 178 in the district headquarters Silgahdi and 254 in Pipalla and Rajpur Bazaar have so far installed the FTTH service. The service has been expanded in the major cities of the district.
According to the NTC Dipayal, the high quality telephone and high speed internet could be brought into use through a cable under the FTTH service. Even the users can access to television channels through the service.
Earlier, the service was merely expanded in Kathmandu. Telecom Dipayal Rajpur’s Information Officer Prakash Bahadur Chaudhary informed that the NTC has provided individual and corporate user packages under the FTTH service. He further shared that it costs Rs 8,000 per annum for eight MBPS while Rs 12,000 for 20 MBPS under the FTTH service.
The FTTH service users have received a wi-fi router and 100 metres fiber cable free of cost.
