  • September 13, 2019

The Ministry of Foreign Affair (MOFA) has said that the government is going to host a conference on climate change under the title “Climate Change, Mountains and Future of Humanity” in April next year as a part of the Sagarmatha Dialogue. The conference will basically focus on the impact of climate change on mountains and the role of stakeholders on the issue.

The two-day conference has been scheduled to be held on April 3 and 4 in the country’s capital, said the Ministry. This is the first time the government is going to conduct such a conference under the government’s flagship conference.

As a part of preparation to host the conference, the government is going to hold a national consultation seminar on Sept 18 with stakeholders in Kathmandu.

According to officials at the ministry, the conference will help the nation share its problems resulting from climate change and hear other countries’ problems in the first dialogue.

This international level conference is expected to take the voices of Nepal to the world regarding the nation’s concern over climate change and its direct/visible/evident impact on our mountains.
