Nepalgunj-Pokhara Daily Flight Starts After Incre Ased Tourist Flow


Buddha Air has started daily flights in Nepalgunj-Pokhara sector from Sunday.
Chief of Buddha Air, Nepalgunj, Binit Bikram Shah, said that the flight has been operated daily from Sunday as it had been operating five days a week so far, especially due to the increasing flow of passengers, including Indian tourists.
He said that Nepalgunj-Pokhara flight has been operated on all days of the week from Sunday.
As the number of passengers is increasing, Buddha Air had started flying three days a week from August 2 and now it has been operating daily flights from today.
The Banke branch of the Nepal Association of Tours and Travels Agents (NATTA) had started its own charter flight through Sita Air on February 19 after no one listened to the demand of tourism entrepreneurs in the region to operate Nepalgunj-Pokhara flight for a long time.
Stating that Nepalgunj-Pokhara flight has been started targeting Indian tourists, Shah said that the number of tourists has increased and attractive tour packages have also been provided.
Chairman of NATTA, Banke, Shri Ram Sigdel, said that daily flights have added impetus to tourism entrepreneurs, adding that efforts are being made to attract more Indian tourists.
“Lucknow, the largest city in India, should be near Nepalgunj. It is easy for tourists from the Indian capital New Delhi to reach Pokhara from Nepalgunj,” said Sigdel. “It will also help in the economic development of Nepalgunj.”
Chairman of the Tourism Management Forum Banke, Krishna Prasad Shrestha, said the flight would prove to be a milestone in making Nepalgunj a tourism hub. He stressed on the need to build pressure for Nepalgunj-Lucknow and Nepalgunj-Delhi flights.
Bhaskar Kafle, president of the Hotel Association Nepal, Lumbini Province, said that hoteliers have benefited from the increase in the number of tourists going to Pokhara from Nepalgunj with tour packages and from Pokhara to Bardiya National Park.
The tour package announced by Buddha Air has two days and three nights for tourists from Nepalgunj to Pokhara and from Pokhara to Bardiya.
There is a tour package of Rs. 10,999 for those coming to Bardiya and Rs. 13,499 for those going to Pokhara from Nepalgunj. Similarly, the minimum one-way fare for Nepalgunj-Pokhara flight has been fixed at Rs. 4,935, medium at Rs. 5,535 and maximum at Rs. 5,935, according to Buddha Air.
