Nepali Army Headquarters has prepared various tourism packages to showcase targeting both national and international tourists towards supporting Visit Nepal Year (VNY)-2020.
NA for assisting the Nepal government’s national event (VNY-2020) has prepared altogether eight different adventure tourism packages to attract foreign tourists during the year.
During the VNY, the NA will mainly organise joint Mt. Everest Expedition, Tri-Adventure sports, Mountain Trekking, Jungle Safari, Nepal Marathon, Trekking on the Unification Trail and famous Liglig race (race for the crown) at Palungtar of Gorkha and seminars.
Under the unification trekking trail event, the NA will take both the domestic and international tourists upon their arrangement to a trekking of historical district to Kavrepalanchowk to conduct the trail of historical Saat Gaun (Seven villages) namely Dhulikhel, Chaukot, Panauti, Kalpu, Banepa, Sanga and Nala.
Addressing the interaction programme on “Visit Nepal 2020- Information Sharing,” a seminar organised by Nepali Army Headquarters on Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Ishwor Pokharel applauded the roles and initiatives taken by the NA for making the government’s national programme a grand success.
The VNY information sharing programme was held by the NA to apprise the diplomatic communities presented at the function.
The supplementary programmes (sub events) designed by the NA to extend the stay of international tourists were so breathtaking and mesmerizing which they will recall forever after their return to their hometown.
Minister Pokharel said that Nepal has tremendous possibility in terms of opportunity to explore the peaceful and quiet nature.
Nepal has lot more challenges to offer to those nature lovers visiting Nepal ranging from summiting of the Mt. Everest to jungle safari, and adventurous trekking in high Himalaya regions.
He expressed his hope that the sub-events to be held in leadership of NA during the VNY will provide lasting impression to the participants.
Giving an opening remarks, Lieutenant General and Chief of General Staff (CGS) Sharad Giri said that the NA was organising these sporting and tourism events as sub-events to supplement the national efforts of the government.
The VNY will remain as commitment year to restore the tourism industry of Nepal which was damaged by devastating earthquake of 2015, he said.
He also said that the coming year 2020 will marks an important event in the country’s calendar for being able to welcome over 2 million tourists. On the occasion, ambassadors from various diplomatic missions and their representatives were present.
