Nepali film ‘Sahayak Shriman’ won the award in Europe


Kathmandu. Nepali film ‘Sahayak Shriman’ has won the award in Europe. At the 29th International Mountain Film Festival in Slovakia on Sunday, Sahayak Shriman won the Honorable Mansion Award.

The director of the film, Ganesh Pandey, said that he felt that another heavy burden was added for the best creation in the coming days when he got the award among the international jury and the audience.The film, which premiered at the Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival, has won various other international awards. The film was screened on the same day on October 15 at the Tegensi International Mountain Film Festival in Slovakia and Germany.The film, which is being selected in various countries of the world, won the first prize ‘Grand Prix Award’ at the 19th International Cannes Video Festival held in Russia last year and also won the US cinema 1,000 award at the Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF). Released at the Kathmandu International Mountaineering Festival (KIMF), ‘Sahayak Shriman’ is based on polygamy. The 35-minute documentary was shot in Humla, Karnali.As many brothers as there are in the house, the unique custom of marrying the same wife still exists in some mountainous districts of Nepal. Director Pandey has brought the same subject to the screen for the first time. In the Lama community of Humla, it is still customary for brothers to marry the same wife.
