A Nepalese woman living in London has been found killed in her Leicester based home.
The victim identified as 32 years old Suvekhshya Burathoki was stabbed to death on 8 October (Tuesday). She originally hailing from Nepal was also known as Fatima.
Burathoki was pronounced dead at the scene when police officials were called to a house in Bartholomew Street, Highfields shortly after 8.30am on Tuesday (8 October) following a report that a woman had been seriously injured inside.
According to the postmortem examination, the victim had suffered multiple stab wounds.
Police have already launched a murder investigation into the case, requesting people living within the Highfields to come forward if they have any information regarding the case.
“We know that Fatima was subjected to a horrific attack in her own home. The person who violently attacked her then left the address.” Detective Inspector Mark Sinski from East Midlands Special Operations Unit said.
“I would still like to speak to anyone who was in Bartholomew Street or the surrounding area any time between 7am and 8.40am on Tuesday. Any information you have could help with our ongoing investigation.” he further added.
According to the victim’s friends, Burathoki was a mother of three children – two sons from her previous relationships and one from her current one.
