Kathmandu, Nepal: Minister for Tourism, Culture and Civil Aviation has tested positive for Covid-19, as per his official Facebook page. He is said to be experiencing mild symptoms, and is isolating.

Minister Bhattarai had recently visited different districts of Sudurpaschim Province to inaugurate three domestic airports where he addressed large groups of people and was seen without a mask most of the time.

Most recently, on Friday, he met with the Indian Ambassador to Nepal Vinay Mohan Kwatra, where he was seen without a mask on his face. For one particular photo, the ambassador too has drawn his mask below his nose.

Meanwhile, Minister Bhattarai’s post is also drawing flak for his ability to get two tests in a week – a facility the public is denied unless they are willing to shell out at least Rs. 2,000 for each test.
