New Bridge Over Budhiganga Elates Locals


The construction of a suspension bridge over Budhiganga River at Tapri Sera, connecting dozens of settlements of Triveni and Budhiganga Municipalities of Bajura, has been completed.
The 190-meter long bridge was constructed at a cost of Rs. 11 million.

The bridge was constructed with the financial support of the provincial government, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure under the provincial government, Infrastructure Development Office, Achham.
After the construction of the bridge, people are no longer forced to cross the river risking their lives.

The newly built bridge has eased the daily life of the local residents.

The locals of Triveni Municipality-9 and Budhiganga Municipality-2 had been suffering after the suspension bridge over Budhiganga River was swept away by the flood on August 9, 2020, said Hira Thapa, ward chairman of Budhiganga Municipality-2.

After a bridge was built, it has brought cheers to the people residing in dozens of villages of both the municipalities, he added.

It has now become very easy for the locals to commute, he said, adding that as many as 15,000 locals of Triveni and Budhiganga municipalities have benefited from the construction of the bridge, said Thapa.

According to the Infrastructure Development Office of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, the construction work was expected to complete by July 14.

However, the bridge came into operation after completing the construction work before the deadline.
