A special program was held today at the Nepal Police Headquarters in Kathmandu to welcome the newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Thakur Prasad Gyawali.
The government appointed Former Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Gyawali as the new IGP yesterday.
Gyawali, also the chief of Province 1 police, has replaced IGP Sarbendra Khanal. Khanal completed his 22-month long tenure based on 30-year service limit yesterday.
Three Additional Inspector Generals — Pushkar Karki, Thule Rai and Dheeru Basnyat — who joined the service along with Khanal also retired yesterday.
Likewise, 18 DIGs have also retired from the service.
