A woman died in a dry landslide occurred near Daurikhola, Panchapuri Rural Municipality-7 in Surkhet district today. The deceased is 78-year-old Amrita Jaisi of Raniban, Turmakhand Rural Municipality-6, Achham district, according to the District Police Office Surkhet.
Rati Kami, 72, has sustained serious injury in her head and forehead in the incident. Jaisi and Kami were going towards Kailali from Raniban of Achham.
The Nepali Army Western Base Camp has airlifted Kami by helicopter and taken her to the Provincial Hospital at Birendranagar for treatment.
Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent Suraj Karki said difficulties have been encountered in the rescue works as the landslide has not stopped. (RSS)
