Over half a dozen films in halls for Tihar revellers


Tihar, the second great festival of Nepali, has already begun. The sparkling lights hung in the houses and streets, the crowd of shoppers in the market, and the extremely busy traders make it look like Tihar has started with splendour.

The fanfare of Tihar can also be noticed at the cinemas, as half a dozen films are being screened to cash in on the festive mood of the people.

‘Ke Ghar Ke Dera’ directed by Dipendra K Khanal and ‘Nalapani’ of Rimesh Adhikari are being screened in the local cinema theatres from October 21.

The movie ‘Ke Ghar Ke Dera’ is a story of people living in their own and rented houses in Kathmandu. The movie has tried to show the problems one faces while living in his own house and in the rented flats.

Likewise, Nalapani film is based on the historical battle fought by Balbhadra Kunwar with the then East India Company at Nalapani Fort in Dehradun in 1814.

Kunwar and his 600 troops, including women and children, had exhibited their courage and bravery in the bNalapani battle.

Likewise, Mahapurush is all set to be released on October 28. Haribansha Acharya, Madan Krishan Shrestha and Gauri Malla are the lead actors in the film.

It is the story of a single widower who brought up his children and as the children grew up, he felt lonely and needed a companion. This movie is also said to be a film on one’s father’s wedding.

Hollywood superhero film ‘Black Adam’, South Indian film ‘Kantara’, Bollywood film Doctor G and Japanese film ‘One Piece: Red’ are also being screened in the local cinema theatres.

Dipendra Lama’s film Dui Nambari which was released on October 7 is still being screened in the cinema theatres.

Films of two Bollywood superstars are also being released on Tuesday. Akshay Kumar’s ‘Ram Sethu’ and Ajay Devgn’s ‘Thank God’ are going head-to-head in cinema halls from October 25.
