PM Deuba Directs Authorities To Focus On Govt.’S Goal To Vaccinate Everyone By Mid-April

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has directed all the concerned authorities to focus on the government’s target to vaccinate all Nepalis within mid-April.

Addressing the first meeting of COVID-19 Crisis Management Coordination Centre held on Thursday morning, PM Deuba directed all the authorities including the coordination committee, Health Ministry, and all other concerned stakeholders to ensure the availability of anti-coronavirus vaccines.

Former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli-led government had formed the COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee (CCMC) via an ordinance. As the ordinance was defunct later, the Deuba-led government formed COVID-19 Crisis Management Coordination Centre with the PM as the coordinator.

Moreover, discussions as to the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in Nepal and in other countries were also held in the meeting.

In the meeting, the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) had informed that a total of 34 per cent of the targeted population had already received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines and 22 per cent had been fully vaccinated against the virus.
