Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has left for the United Kingdom (UK) leading a Nepali delegation to participate in the World Leaders Summit of the 26th Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-26).
The conference is being held in Glasgow of the United Kingdom.
On Friday morning, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khad, Minister For Foreign Affairs Narayan Khadka, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Vice-President of Nepali Congress (NC) Bimalendra Nidhi, Chief Secretary of the government Shankar Das Bairagi, high-level officers and chiefs of the national security bid farewell to the PM at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA).
PM Deuba will be attending and addressing the official inauguration ceremony of COP-26 being held on November 1. He will also take part in the welcome event being hosted by the all-party Parliamentary Group of Nepal and the UK-Nepal Trade and Investment Forum in London.
The COP-26 is taking place from October 31 to November 12.
The delegation led by the PM includes Minister for Forest and Environment Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Secretary of Foreign Ministry Bharat Raj Poudyal, Secretary of Forest Ministry Dr. Prem Narayan Kandel, Secretary of Finance Ministry Madhu Kumar Marasini, Secretary of Home Ministry Tek Narayan Pandey, Secretary of National Planning Commission Kewal Prasad Bhandari and Chairman of National Environment Conservation Fund Dr. Madhav Bahadur Karki.
PM Deuba is returning on November 4.
