The Aathrai Rural Municipality in Tehrathum district has announced a public holiday today to mark the 69th birthday of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
The rural municipality made the announcement after it was decided that Prime Minister Oli will visit his hometown to celebrate the occasion.
Oli is scheduled to fly to his birth house in Aathrai today. A helipad has been built to ease the prime minister’s travel to his birth house.
Moreover, the rural municipality office has also mandated its employees as well as local teachers a dress code for the occasion and instructed them to compulsorily attend the birthday program.
According to the Chief of the rural municipality Manbahadur Limbu, the PM’s birthday program will be held at his personal residence in the village.
PM Oli will distribute warm clothes to 400 elderly citizens and study materials to as many as 1,500 students to mark the occasion, Limbu informed.
The prime minister is also scheduled to attend various other programs to be held in Aathrai on the occasion of his birthday.
Meanwhile, the celebrations have begun from the PM’s official residence in Baluwatar of Kathmandu.
