Kathmandu Police today made public seven people arrested on the charge of attempting to sacrifice a Nepali woman. Two among the arrested are women.
Speaking at a press organized by the Central Bureau of Investigation in Teku of Kathmandu today to make the arrested public, Umesh Shah, one of the arrestees, accused the police of detaining them with without a valid reason.
He added that he is unaware of the alleged attempt to sacrifice a woman. “We don’t know anything regarding the matter and police have arrested us without a valid reason,” said Shah.
According to police, the seven arrested had lured a woman with the promise of a modeling job in Bihar of India, and were preparing to sacrifice her. The woman had alerted the police after she became suspicious about their motives.
Police had arrested the seven from Biratnagar on December 24, at 9:00 pm as they were preparing to travel to a temple in Bihar via Jogbani.
