Police open blank fire to clear obstruction at Banchare Danda


Police have opened blank fire to clear the obstruction at Banchare Danda where locals were obstructing roads to garbage-carrying vehicles from entering the landfill site.

Police have opened five rounds of blank fire and hit tear gasses to control the situation. The tens were pilled while locals hit the garbage-carrier vehicles with catapults and started to obstruct the roads.

According to Dinesh Raj Mainali, the spokesperson of the Metropolitan Police Range Teku, after the locals blocked the vehicles, the police fired 5 rounds of blank fires and some cells of tear gas.

Mainali said that they were compelled to open blank fire after the locals threw stones at the police. The locals of Banchare Danda have been obstructing the garbage disposal by making various demands.
