A political delegation from Chitwan also comprising Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ today reached Baluwatar in Kathmandu to call on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
CPN (Maoist Center) chair and former Prime Minister Prachanda represent the Chitwan constituency 3 in the parliament. The meeting aimed to apprise the Prime Minister about various issues concerning the district, it is said.
According to Bhaktapur metropolis mayor, Renu Dahal, who was also a member of the delegation, the meeting with the Prime Minister focused on discussions about the expansion of Bharatpur Airport, construction of an international cricket stadium, underground electrification at Madi, and the enhancement of a postal highway along the Madi forest area.
Following the visit, the Prime Minister is learned to have summoned Chief Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi and Chief of Army Staff Prabhu Ram Sharma among others and directed them to proceed towards addressing the demands put forth by the delegation.
“The Prime Minister responded to our issues very positively and promptly directed the bodies concerned towards the implementation”, shared Mayor Dahal.
She hoped that the demands of Chitwan folks would be addressed with priority from the government level. Political parties’ representatives, NA members, and Bharatpur and Madi’s former and present people’s representatives were among those in the delegation. (RSS)
