President Bidya Devi Bhandari along with Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli and other high profile delegates inaugurated the historical Rani Pokhari in Kathmandu after its restoration.
Rani Pokhari is a Malla -era pond built by King Pratap Malla in 1671 and it carries religious as well as cultural significance. The pond, along with other historical places was damaged in the April 2015 Earthquake of Nepal.
After the inauguration, the Bal Gopaleshwor Temple inside the pond will be opened for public from this year’s Tihar.
