President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba have extended best wishes to all Gurung community people living in home and abroad on the occasion of Tamu Lhosar.
President Bhandari in her message has wished for happiness, peace and good health and long life of the community and all Nepalis.
The President also mentioned that the Gurung community has played important roles in promoting cultural tourism by preserving and promoting the country’s unique cultural heritage and building an economically and socially prosperous country.
She also expressed her confidence that festivals like Tamu Lhosar will enhance the spirit of mutual harmony, tolerance and brotherhood among all Nepalis and will further strengthen the broader national unity.
In his message, Prime Minister Deuba said that that Nepali culture and traditions have their own distinctive identity and those identities have strengthened the national unity.
Prime Minister Deuba said that maintaining unity and social harmony within diversity is a good example of cultural practices in Nepal.
He mentioned that the Lhosar festival celebrated in the Gurung community has now been established as a festival with a unique identity.
He also urged the Gurung community to celebrate Lhosar festival abiding by the public health protocols as the risk of COVID- 19 remains in the country.
Likewise, Chairman of National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timalsina also extended his best wishes to all Gurung community people on the occasion of Tamu Lhosar.
