President, PM greet women on Teej festival


On the occasion of Haritalika Teej 2022, President Bidya Devi Bhandari has expressed her best wishes with the belief that the festival will contribute to social, cultural unity and make family relations more harmonious by advancing equal access of women in every sector of society.

In her message of best wishes issued on Tuesday, President Bhandari said that the festival has created an opportunity to unite the society, and elevate women empowerment and social harmony.

She has said that the festival will provide new enthusiasm and vigour to all of us to build an egalitarian society by ending all kinds of discrimination, violence and social evils against women.

Likewise, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba in his message said that the cultural festival of Teej would help end gender, caste, class and other types of discriminations from the society.

The Prime Minister in his Teej greeting said that the government was working to realise the people’s desire for peace development and good governance in practice.

Prime Minister Deuba further said that the government was committed to preserving and promoting all cultural and religious festivals of Nepal.

Likewise, Chairman of National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina in his message said that the Teej festival may inspire all Nepali women to move forward in unity.
